NEMA South South Zonal office in collaboration with BYSEMA carried out flood assessment in Bayelsa State. The assessment followed a report of Flood in the state by an affected person Mr. Pere Elako. The NEMA team was led by Felix Akakara (SSARO). Other team members were the Chairman of BYSEMA Igrubia Walaman Sam and the community members. Communities so far affected include Akenfa in Yenagoa LGA, Amassomma in Southern Ijaw LGA and Ayama in Ogbia LGA.
Farmlands, Crops, fishponds, buildings and household property were damaged by the flood.
The zone is still monitoring the development across the state.
