NEMA South South in collaboration with the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA carried out assessment of flood impacted communities in the area. The joint assessment team was led by Damian Egwu (PSASO). Assessment revealed that several communities including Ebocha, Okwuzi, Aggah, Mgbede and Ekpe have been submerged by the ravaging flood. Farmlands, pig farms, economic trees, buildings, household property and drinking water sources have all been affected. The water level is still rising and the zone is monitoring the development keenly.
The LGA has been advised to relocate vulnerable communities to higher ground.
