NEMA Distributes Relief Items to Rainstorm Disaster Victims in Lampese Community, Edo State

On July 24, 2024, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Edo Operations Office distributed relief materials to persons affected by rainstorm disaster ,led by the Principal Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, Joseph Akpofabe, the NEMA team provided food and non-food items to the affected individuals. The relief materials were approved by the Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, in response to the report from the Operations Office.

The team was warmly received by Mr. Aimonemi Victor Agonroyo, who expressed gratitude to the Director General of NEMA for the prompt approval of the relief items. He noted that the assistance would significantly alleviate the hardship faced by the rainstorm victims.

Mr. Aimonemi Victor Arongoyo, National Publicity Secretary of Lampese Development Association, also appreciated the Federal Government’s support through NEMA, stating that the relief materials would bring succour to the victims.

This distribution of relief materials demonstrates NEMA’s commitment to providing timely and effective support to disaster-affected communities. The agency’s collaboration with stakeholders and local authorities is crucial in mitigating the impact of disasters and promoting resilience among affected populations.
