NEMA coordinates Emergency Respionse to Tanker Accident in Kaduna

Emergency responders have successfully evacuated the petroleum products from the tanker involved in an accident along Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway. This coordinated effort ensured the safe transfer of the product to another tanker, mitigating potential hazards.

The response was a collaborative effort involving key stakeholders, including firefighters from the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), and the Federal Fire Service. Additionally, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDrA), the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Kaduna State Disaster Management Platform (DMP), and media partners played crucial roles in traffic and crowd control, operational coordination, and humanitarian services.

This swift and effective intervention highlights the commitment of emergency agencies to public safety and disaster management. Authorities appreciate the cooperation of the public and urge continued vigilance in ensuring safety on our roads.
