
NEMA has delivered the Federal Government’s relief support to traders affected by Fire disaster at the Central (Old) Panteka Market in Kaduna.
The relief materials which consists of food and non food items was presented by the Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar to the representatives.of the state government and management of the market.
During the presentation, the Director General who was represented by NEMA North West Zonal Coordinator, Abbani Imam Garki handed over the relief materials during a symbolic presentation for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.
The relief materials consists of 1,000 bags of rice (10kg), 1,000 bags of beans(10kg), 1,000 bags of maize (10kg), 80 kegs of vegetable oil (5×4 ltrs), 50 bags of salt (20kg), 80 cartons of seasoning, 80 cartons of tomato paste (sachet x 50), others are 26 packets of zinc nails and 50 bundles of roofing sheets.
The Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Hon. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, Chairman of the Old Panteka Market, Alh. Suleiman Shehu accompanied by his secretary Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar and other government delegations were all present during the event.
However, The Director General commiserate with the affected persons and also urged the marketers to seek for preventive measures in other to curtail the reoccurrence nature of market fire in other to bring a lasting solution to the problem.
