
In response to the recent windstorm disaster that ravaged several communities in Shiroro, Munya and Rafi Federal Constituency of Niger State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Minna Operations Office, has carried out the distribution of relief materials to affected persons.
The exercise, which took place on Sunday 17th August 2025 at the Farm Institute in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area, was led by the Head of Operations, Mr. Hussaini Isah, in collaboration with the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) and other critical stakeholders.
Representing the Honourable Member for Shiroro, Munya, and Rafi Federal Constituency, Hon. Ismail Musa Moddibo, was Mal. Hashimu Ibrahim, who joined the team in coordinating the distribution exercise.
Items Distributed were bags of Rice (25kg), Maize (25kg), Seasoning cubes, Vegetable oil, Tomato paste and Iodized salt.
The distribution covered all three affected Local Government Areas—Shiroro, Munya, and Rafi—with the active involvement of community leaders, NSEMA, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure fairness and transparency.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Muntari Abdulbaki, a Chief Imam and community member, commended NEMA for its timely intervention and support to households affected by the disaster.
The exercise was peaceful, well-coordinated, and successfully brought relief to the affected communities.
