NEMA HANDS OVER 31.92 METRIC TONS OF GRAINS TO NASARAWA STATE.

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered assorted grains to Nasarawa State in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar who was represented by the North Central Zonal Director, Bashir Idris Garga in Lafia said that the grains is part of the 42,000 metric tons of food commodities from the National Strategic Reserve under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security ( FMoA&FS) to cushion the effect of the economic down-turn in the country.

Nasarawa State government received the following items Sorghum ( 9,307 bags of 50kg), Maize ( 5,721 bags of 50kg) and Millet ( 2,554 bags of 50kg) which will be distributed to all LGAs, religious organizations and boarding schools in the state.

Executive Governor, Nassarawa state Engr A. A. Sule represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel A. Akabe welcomed the DG NEMA and the beneficiaries as he appreciated the President for his concern for the vulnerable in the society. He assured the DG that the government of Nasarawa State who believe in accountability will follow the templates for distribution judiciously and promised that the names and contacts of every beneficiary will be written and sent to NEMA.

The DG, NASEMA Bar. Z. Z. Alumaga thanked NEMA for always having the State in mind and coming to it’s aid at every point.

Princess Dr. Margaret Itake Elayo, the Commissioner, Ministry of Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and NGOs in her remarks also appreciated the Agency for remembering the State.

The beneficiaries appreciated the President and the Agency for this laudable initiative and the help rendered to them.
