3, 870 MT of food items presented to Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State

About 3, 870 MT of food items moved from Federal Government’s food silos by NEMA were Sunday presented by the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq to Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State for distribution to vulnerable persons as COVID-19 palliatives from the Federal Government as approved by the President His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari. The items consist of 2, 130 Metric ton of Maize, 870 Metric ton of surghum and 870 Metric ton of millet.
Also presented by the Minister were 10, 000 bags of rice from the ministry.
Hajiya Sadiya Farouq said the palliatives were approved by the President for distribution to the vulnerable persons to cushion the effects of the lockdown measures to control the spread of COVID-19.
Responding, the Governor Dr Ganduje appreciated the kind gesture of President Buhari and the Minister for coming to deliver the food items.
The DG NEMA, AVM MA Muhammed accompanied the Minister on the official engagement in Kano State.
