The Director General, NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed has presented Drugs and other medical facilities provided by a United States based support group, the Medical Assistance Programme (MAP) to five hospitals in Katsina state.
NEMA NW Zonal Coordinator Abbani Imam Garki who represented the Director General hand over the medicaments to the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Katsina, Engr. Yakubu Danja on behalf the hospitals.
The hospitals who received the medicaments are the Federal Medical Center and the General Hospital in Katsina, others are the General Hospitals in Daura, Funtua and Dutsinma Local Governments.
The medicaments is designed to cater for people hospitalized following different attacks unleashed by gunmen suspected to be armed bandits in respective communities in the state.
The items provided are 30 cartons of Prenatal Micronutrients Supplements (X 100), 6 cartons of Prenatal Micronutrients Supplements ( X 90), 5 cartons of 10 ml Syringe ( X 200), 210 cartons of Krill oil 500mg( X 70) and 16 Pieces of Sharp Collector.
Others are.16 cartons of Nitrile Gloves ( X100), 10 cartons of Particulate Nose Mask N 95 ( X 50), 29 cartons Respirator N 95 3M( X 10), 250 Units of Eye glasses, 10 cartons of 50ml Syringe ( X 200), 132 cartons of Disposable Gown Medium ( X 100) and 48 cartons of Disposable Isolation Gown Large( X 5).
The rest are 8 cartons of Respirator Particulate ( X 10), 6 cartons of 3ml Luer Lok Syringe, 12 cartons of 3ml Syringe ( X 200), 474 Units of 3M Aura n/Mask, 76 Units of 3M Cool Flow N/Mask, 21 carton Respirator Particulate N 95( X 20), 1 carton of Bactine Spray.
Completing the items are 9 cartons of Lancet Private, 1 cartons of 1/2 ml Syringe Insulin, 10 Units of Allergy Syringe Tray, 10 cartons of Disposable Barrier Gown( X 50) and 1 unit of Knee Walker.
The representatives of the state government at the presentation, Babangida Nasamu, SEMA Executive Secretary and Ibrahim Mamman Garba, the CMD General Hospital Daura commended the agency for the gesture and pledge to utalize the medicaments as planned.
