NEMA DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS TO PERSONS AFFECTED BY THE 2022 FLOOD DISASTER IN THE SOUTHERN IJAW FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY OF BAYELSA STATE


NEMA South-South carried out the direct distribution of approved relief materials to persons affected by the 2022 flood in the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State. The team was led by Maria Kaku, the Principal Learning & Development Officer of the zone. The Honourable Member representing the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency Hon. Preye Goodluck Oseke was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide Hon. Ebimobowei Omonibo and representatives from the Constituency.  Mrs. Kaku conveyed the sympathy of Mr. President and the DG of NEMA to the State and persons affected by the flood. She admonished the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to bring succor to them. On his part, the Hon. Member thanked the federal government and NEMA for responding to the call for assistance to his constituents affected by the flood. Representatives of the beneficiaries Joseph Agbaje and Stephanie Ebi thanked the federal government and NEMA for supporting them and assured them that they will make good use of the items.
Items distributed were:  (10kg) bags each of rice, beans, and garri; veg. oil; tomato paste; seasoning;  bags of cement; bundles of roofing sheets;  nylon mats;  bath towels;  blankets;  foam mattresses;  mosquito nets; children’s wear; guinea brocade women’s wear;  men’s wear plastic buckets; plastic plates and plastic cups.
