On Thursday 23rd February, 2023, NEMA SWZ office in collaboration with OGSEMA carried out direct distribution of relief materials to people affected by 2022 flood disaster in Ogun state. h. 2. The items that was distributed included both food and non-food items approved by Presidential Committee on Relief & Rehabilitation and that of additional Relief items approved by the Agency. Both items are meant to further cushion the impact of 2022 flood disaster on the affected Persons in the State.
3. The Zonal Coordinator, NEMA, SWZ – Mr. Akiode Saheed who represented DG at the exercise commiserated with the victims. He said the items are token from Federal Gov’t through Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development to identify with the victims in their trying time. He reiterated that they should embrace disaster management in their locality to prevent future occurrence.
- The beneficiaries took turns to collect their allocation. They thanked the Federal Gov’t for the gesture and promised to use the item given to them judiciously.
