NEMA SOUTH EAST ZONAL OFFICE DISTRIBUTES RELIEF ITEMS TO 2022 FLOOD VICTIMS IN EBONYI STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA South East Zonal Office has distributed relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of 2022 flood disaster in Ebonyi State to ameliorate their suffering. The direct distribution excercise which took place in Abakaliki is in continuation of the exercise which started since December 2022 across the zone.

Speaking at the occasion Ngozi Echeazu the Ag. Zonal Coordinator NEMA South East stated that the approved relief items by the Director-General NEMA Mustapha Ahmed Habib is to cushion the effect of sufferings of the affected. According to her, this is part of the Federal Government efforts to address the needs of her citizens. She emphatized with the flood affected persons and further advice that they should always heed to NEMA early warnings.

In response, the representative of the Ebonyi State Government Hon. Ann Aligwe, the Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring as well as the Ag. Executive Secretary Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency, expressed her appreciation for the kind gesture of the Agency.

The beneficiaries commended NEMA and EBSEMA for equitable distribution of the relief items.
