A join team of NEMA, Sokoto Operations Office and Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency conducted an on-the-spot assessment of areas affected by rainstorm incident that hits several communities in the state recently.
Many houses are affected, with several rooftops blown off and walls pulled down by the storm. Even though a few people are already embarking on partial rehabilitation of their affected buildings, many of those affected are taking shelter with relatives and friends.
The areas assessed include Gamjeji in Mayama Local Government Area and Kaoje town in Kaoje Local Government Area. The assessment exercise will continue to ascertain the level of damage in other Locations that were affected by the rainstorm too.
