Federal Government of Nigeria has allocated 23,400 bags of grains to support Vulnerable families in Bauchi State, aiming to mitigate the economic downturn’s impact. The announcement,was made by Mrs. Zubaida Umar, Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) represented by Zonal Director NEMA North East Yakubu Suleiman, underscored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to improving welfare of citizens across the country.
The items for distribution includes 9,200 bags of maize, 3,800 bags of sorghum, and 10,400 bags of millet.
This initiative is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which involves releasing 42,000 metric tons of assorted food commodities from the National Strategic Reserve. The distribution process is monitored by NEMA officials, office of the National Security Adviser ONSA,the Department of State Services, and anti-graft agencies to ensure proper delivery to beneficiaries.
Governor Bala Mohammed’s representative, Haj. Hajara Yakubu Wanka commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, highlighted the importance of the food items as a palliative measure following the fuel subsidy removal and expressed confidence in the adherence to federal guidelines for distribution.
