NEMA PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO NEDC STATE COORDINATOR

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Yola Operations Office, led by its Head of Operations, Mr. Ladan Ayuba has paid a courtesy visit to the State Coordinator of the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), Barr. Khalifa Lawan, at his office in Yola. The visit, accompanied by key principal officers of the Operations Office, was aimed at strengthening collaboration in disaster management, humanitarian response, and sustainable recovery interventions across the Northeast Zone.

In his remarks, Mr. Ayuba emphasized the importance of synergy among federal institutions working within the humanitarian and development space, particularly in addressing recurrent disasters such as floods, communal conflicts, and population displacement.

He highlighted NEMA’s ongoing efforts in preparedness, emergency response, and resilience building, stressing the need for stronger institutional partnerships with commission.

In his remarks, Barr. Khalifa Lawan commended NEMA for its frontline role in disaster response and support to vulnerable communities. He assured that NEDC remains committed to working closely with NEMA in tackling both emergency and developmental challenges, particularly in Adamawa State.

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both agencies to enhanced cooperation, information sharing, and joint interventions for the benefit of communities in need.
