Head of Sokoto Operations Office, Mr Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi led other members of staff for an assessment of Banditry attack at Lungu, Tudun Barki, Tudun Dorowa, Aske Dodo and ‘Yar yalo communities Of Shagari LGA of Sokoto State.
The attack led to the displacement of more than 4,318 persons, many people sustained various degrees of bullet wounds after being shot at by the gun men, one person lost his life as he tried to swim across an overflowing stream.
The Unknown Gunmen rustled away more than 2,000 castles,sheeps, goats, and camels. Other valuables like motorcycles, bicycles phones, clothes and food items were also carted away.
The displaced families are taking refuge at Magaji Rufai Ismiyya IDP camp in Shagari, Sokoto.
