
A gasoline tanker fell on a passenger car, causing explosions and a devastating fire that resulted in loss of life and properties. The fire was extinguished by the fire service, which also doused remaining gas cylinders to prevent further explosions.
NEMA coordinated a meeting with stakeholders for the final evacuation. The River state governor visited the site, praised NEMA, and appreciated the quick response from all involved agencies, including the police, fire service, civil defense, DSS, and various state ministries and media.
NEMA coordinated the recovery and evacuation efforts, working late into the night despite the rain. They used specialized equipment to extricate the burnt car and recover casualties, providing body bags and lighting from their incident response vehicle. The recovered bodies were taken to the mortuary by the FRSC, and the remnants of the truck were removed to restore traffic flow. Operations concluded at 3:34 am.
