The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Minna Operations Office, received a report of a gas explosion from the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) at approximately 11:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
The explosion occurred at Tasiu Gas Plant, located beside Kalasma Filling Station in Sabon Wuse, along the Kaduna Expressway. The incident resulted from the transloading of gas from a tanker to a surface tank. Both the tanker and the gas plant were completely engulfed in flames, along with a car parked nearby belonging to Abubakar Yakubu.
The fire also spread to Ngeil Grains Processing Factory, located behind the gas plant, destroying approximately 550 bags of beans and six bags of soya beans stored in the facility.
As of the time of this report, no lives were lost, and the fire has been successfully brought under control.
