NEMA South South Emergency Response Team led by Fortunatus Anyanwu (ACSARO) today carried out Search and Rescue operation at the site of a collapsed 2-storey building under construction at Okilton Drive by Ada George Road in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State. The incident was reported to have taken place at about 6:00am today 29:06:2023.
Four (4) persons with various degrees of injuries have been rescued and evacuated to Heritage Hospital Ada George for treatment.
NEMA South South Zone also coordinated the Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Red Cross, Nigeria Police Force and State Emergency Management Agency for the operation. As at the time of this report, effort was ongoing to clear the rubble from the site of the incident.
