National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has flagged off the distribution of relief items as part of phase one of the Special National Economic Livelihood Emergency Intervention in Yenagoa Bayelsa. The Director General Mustapha Ahmed Habib represented by Justin Uwazuruonye presented the Relief items to the beneficiaries.The program was approved by the Federal Government to assist 7811 households affected by the 2022 flood, as well as vulnerable individuals in Bayelsa state.
The distribution is being done in partnership with the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA). The relief package includes food, non-food items, tools for livelihood support, agriculture seedlings, rice, beans, vegetable oil, blankets, mattresses, more, seedlings, pesticides, fertilizer, sewing machines, grinding machines,and sprayers.
Executive Secretary Bayelsa state Emergency Management Agency Honourable walamam sam Igrubia thanked the federal government for the program and advised beneficiaries to make best use of the materials.
