NEMA DISTRIBUTES FOOD, NON-FOOD, BUILDING AND LIVELIHOOD MATERIALS TO PERSONS AFFECTED BY 2022 FLOOD IN AKWA IBOM STATE


NEMA South -South today carried out the distribution of approved relief materials to persons affected by 2022 flood disaster in Akwa Ibom State. The Zonal Coordinator of the zone, Godwin Tepikor was represented by the Assistant Chief Search & Rescue Officer, Demian Egwu. He expressed the sympathy of the Director General of NEMA to the state and the affected persons. He advised them to make adequate use of the items somas to promote their early recovery from the disaster. On his part, Mr. Ubong Ubiam who represented the Hon
Minister, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs expressed the deep appreciation of the State to the Director General of the agency Mustapha Habib Ahmed and the federal government for the approval of the items, and added that the items would help cushion the impact of the disaster on the people and enhance early recovery. The representative of the affected persons Mr. Usen Ukpong thanked NEMA and the federal government for the gesture and promised that they will make good use of the items distributed to them.
Items distributed were food, non-food, building and livelihood materials.
