NEMA Lagos Territorial Office on Friday 29th December, 2023 officially delivered relief materials to traders that suffered fire disaster on the 1st of November, 2023.

The event which was conducted within the Premises of LTO on Friday 29th December, 2023 witnessed by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu represented by the acting Permanent Secretary, Dr. Macauley Olu accompanied by the Director, Forestry, the representative of Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Bosun Akinbolade and Chairman, Lagos State Relief Materials Intervention Committee Mr Hakim Oreagba. Also, the President Plank Market Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Adelodun and other plank market executives were in attendance.

While delivering the relief items on behalf of the Director General NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed who was represented bythe Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye informed that before now, the agency has been assisting several markets in the state that had suffered fire disasters and this has gone to show the responsiveness of the Federal Government in mitigation of impacts of disasters in the country by regular provision of succour to disaster victims.

The Coordinator advised the traders to be weary of the current nature of the weather and take proactive steps to prevent similar occurrence in future.

Receiving the relief items on behalf of the state government, Dr. Macauley acknowledged and appreciated the Agency for coming to the aid of the traders promptly. He further advised the traders to secure their investment through insurance initiative.

The President of the association expressed their profound gratitude to the Federal Government and Agency for finding them worthy of these relief gesture. He promised to put to use various advise that have been given
