

National Emergency Management Agency officially handed over approved Federal Government Grains from strategic reserve to the Ondo State Government in a ceremony which was graced by Top Ondo State government officials, Traditional Rulers, Local Government chairmen and DSS, ICPC other dignitaries.
In her Speech the Director General NEMA Mrs Zubaida Umar who was represented by the Zonal Director, South West Zonal Directorate, Mr Stephen Adewale stated that Federal government had earlier approved the release of 42,000 MT of assorted grains from the National strategic reserve to be distributed to the vulnerable persons in the country, to this effect, Ondo State has received Maize 14,040 bags (25kg) and Garri 3,440 bags (25kg) which is to be distributed to the vulnerable persons across the 18 local government areas in Ondo State.
In his Response, the Executive Governor Ondo State His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who received the items thanked the federal government for the gesture of providing palliatives to cushion the effects of the harsh economic situation on the vulnerable persons. He noted that the Ondo State would ensure that the items are judiciously distributed to deserving beneficiaries who have been enumerated in the State. He further thanked the Director General NEMA for always supporting the State in the areas of Disaster Management and therefore solicited that this synergy e sustained.
