In furtherance to the Federal Government efforts in assisting persons affected by 2022 flood disaster, the NEMA South East Zonal Office team led by the Ag. ZC Ngozi Echeazu were at Awka, Anambra state for a flag-off/direct distribution of relief materials. Recall that a similar exercise was carried out by the Agency in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State on 1st August 2023.
In her address, the Ag. ZC empathized with the affected over their huge losses. According to her, the issuance of relief materials to the affected is an indication that the Federal Government cares for the citizens. She urged them to move on in life and not be deterred.
Chief Paul Odenigbo the Executive Secretary of ANSEMA who stood in for the State Government thanked the Agency and FG for coming to the aid of the State and the affected persons.
Major Highlights of the occasion were the direct distribution of the relief items to the affected persons/expression of gratitude for the items.
