One more body was recovered by the joint search and rescue team comprising of NEMA, SOO Search and Rescue officers, local divers and SEMA. The body was recovered at Asia community and delivered to the relatives.
In another but related development, a 3-man delegation from zonal office of Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau visited Sokoto Operations Office concerning the Boat accident.
While describing NEMA as a key stakeholder in executing it’s mandate, the delegation from NSIB said they were in Sokoto State from the zonal headquarters in Kano to investigate the root cause of the boat mishap, inorder to forestall future reoccurrence.
They sought to visit the scene of the incident and interview survivors to receive first hand information and NEMA, SOO directed them appropriately.
