NEMA South South Zonal office Responded to a call from the Airport manager at about 16:45 Hrs regarding a flight from Lagos to port Harcourt with over 100 passengers .
The plane landed missing the landing point on the tarmac and sped off the runway into the muddy grassy bush at the airport.
All passengers were safe and safely evacuated with their luggages.. other
Stakeholders with NEMA at the airport Include the Nigeria Airforce , the police, NCAA, FAAN and their security, Airport fire service.
The airport manager is requesting assistance for the pulling out of the aircraft from the mud after the AIB s final assessment today or tomorrow..
The runway has been cleared for flight activities to resume operations. The area of the accident had been cordoned out of the take off and landing zones .
