The Head NEMA Owerri Operations Office, Mr. Igwe Nnamdi with his team were in Abia State for a working visit to the newly elected State Executives and other disaster management stakeholders
The first stopover was the Office of the Secretary to the Abia State Government. The NEMA Head, Igwe Nnamdi explained that the visit was to familiarise with the new state officials and to cement the already existing synergy and also point out the areas the State Government need to do more for an effective disaster management in the state.
The SSG, Professor Kenneth Kalu expressed his happiness over the visit saying it was timely owing to His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti’s zero tolerance to avoidable disasters in the State. Also visited during the working visit were the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Chief of Staff to the Abia State Government, Pastor Caleb Ajagba and the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna
