
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, in collaboration with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), flagged off the distribution of relief materials to households affected by recent rain and windstorm disasters in Tudun Wada and Dogowa Federal Constituency of Kano State on the 19th of October, 2025.
The exercise was facilitated by officials from NEMA, SEMA Kano, and the Honourable Member representing the constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Alhassan Ado Dogowa.
The Honourable Member commended NEMA for its swift intervention and expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for standing by the affected communities during this difficult time.
Speaking at the occasion, Rilwanu Sumaila, an Assistant Chief Accountant who represented the Head of Operations, sympathized with the victims over their losses and reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. He encouraged residents to embrace Disaster Risk Management practices and emphasized the importance of building community resilience. He also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the relief materials provided.
A representative of the beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to NEMA and the Federal Government for their timely support to the affected families.
The relief materials distributed to the affected persons comprised both food and non-food items.
