In response to the devastating fire outbreak that recently affected Yola South Market, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) successfully distributed essential relief materials to the affected traders.
The distribution, approved by the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubairu Umar provided both food and building materials to support the victims of the fire disaster. Mr. Ladan Ayuba, Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office, represented the DG during the distribution exercise. He expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and understanding exhibited by market leaders and highlighted the importance of ensuring that all affected traders receive the necessary aid.
The relief distribution was officially flagged off by the Honourable Commissioner for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (RRR), Bar. Hamman Bello Daram, on behalf of the Adamawa State Government. In his remarks, he praised the DG of NEMA for the approval of the relief materials and encouraged all beneficiaries to make good use of the support provided.
In her remark. The Perm Sec, (Adsema) Mrs. Celine L Kwamoti. Represented by the Director Relief Mr. Maxwell Johnson expressed gratitude for the federal government’s support and acknowledged the contributions of NEMA involved in the response efforts. He expressed appreciation for the ongoing support to Adamawa and wished NEMA continued success in its future activities.
Mal. Ali Kachala, Chairman of the Gamzaki Traders Association Yola South, made an official appeal on behalf of all traders’ associations to both the federal government and the Adamawa State Government He expressed heartfelt thanks for the relief items and called for continued support to help traders fully recover and rebuild their businesses.
The distribution exercise was observed by the officials, including representatives from ADSEMA, the police, DSS, civil defence, media personnel, and the beneficiaries themselves.
