NEMA deliver additional relief to Agatu IDPs

In furtherance of humanitarian supports to the displaced persons affected by the recent attacks their communities in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered additional relief materials for distribution to assuage their condition.
The materials were presented in Makurdi to the state governor Dr Samuel Ortom by the Director General of NEMA Muhammad Sani Sidi in the presence of a delegation from the House of Representatives led by the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Hon Ali Isa.
The Director General who was represented by the Director of Search and Rescue Air Vice Marshal Charles Otegbade said the additional materials were outcome of report from the initial relief delivered by the North Central zonal which identified the need for more supplies for the displaced persons.
He said the continued supports of the agency to assist the displaced persons as promised during the recent rally by a group from the area that recently visited the headquarters of NEMA in Abuja.
Responding, Governor Ortom who received the materials on behalf of the affected persons assured of the distribution to them. The governor said the state government has already set up a special committee for the care of the affected persons which would work with the state emergency management agency in distribution of the relief items.
