Staff of NEMA NWZ in collaboration with SEMA, the Nigeria Red Cross, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and other relevant stakeholders carried out an assessment of flood disaster following a heavy downpour in Mai-Adua Local Government Area of Katsina state.
The incident has affected no fewer than 607 houses in about 12 communities and rendered a large number of residents in the areas homeless.
The assessment of the destruction is meant to obtain an accurate data to serve as a guide for appropriate recommendation in other to bring about succour to the affected people.
Most of the affected people who have had their buildings destroyed are displaced and are now taking solace in neighborhood with families and friends.
