The DG, NEMA, Zubaida Umar flagged off distribution of relief items to persons affected by Armed Banditry and 2024 Flood in different Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
The DG who was represented by the Head of Operations, Sokoto Operations Office, Mr. Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi while flagging off the exercise said President Bola Ahmad Tinubu considered the plight of the victims affected by armed Banditry and flood and approved the relief items for distribution to them. This is to cushion the effects of the incidences that has created so much humanitarian situation in the area.
The relief materials distributed include food and non-food items which were specifically for persons affected by flood disaster, persons affected by Armed Banditry, also there was the outstanding balance of agricultural equipment as well as relief assistance donated by bank of industry for Internally Displaced Persons.
Zamfara State Governor, H.E Dauda Lawal who received the items on behalf of the state promised to ensure proper distribution of the items to the actual affected persons. The Governor could not hide his happiness as he appreciated the Federal Government for identifying with the plight of the people in distress.
Other dignitaries present in the flagg off include the Deputy Governor and other state functionaries.
