The NEMA South- West Zonal Office in collaboration with Osun State Emergency Management Agency( Osun SEMA) carried out an on -the- Spot Assessment of windstorm disaster in two Local Government Areas in Osun State on 13th February, 2024. Namely: Ife -East and Ife- Central. The Communities include;
a. Otutu
b. Adeyunbo,
d. Ilugba,
e. Itapata and
f. Itakogun
The Joint assessment Team were received by The Secretary to Oni of Ife Palace His Royal Highness (HRM) Oba Adedire Adewole Solomon .He had a brief with the team and thereafter, conveyed the team to the affected L.G.As
The disaster affected properties worth millions of Naira such as residential buildings, shops, silos, schools, worship centers and town hall. However, no life was lost in the incident while, Some of the displaced victims are presently staying with relatives.The affected Community leaders commended the Federal and State Government for their timely response and appealed for support to cushion the effect of the disaster
