The NEMA Yola Operations Office Coordinated response to fire disaster at an illegal fuel depot in Yola Adamawa State. The Fire broke out late Wednesday evening at a depot located beside a road junction called Maidoki roundabout in Jimeta Yola. Witnesses said the Fire started about 6:30 pm destroying unascertained quatities of fuel and diesel stored in drums and tanks, the Fire also destroyed vehicles and shops around the depot.
The Head of Operation who led the response activated the Adama beverage fire truck, the Federal Fire Service and FAAN Fire Service to join the state Fire Service that was already on ground. The response team worked tirelessly with stakeholders on preventing the Fire from spreading to other facilities especially the Gas station and Petrol station adjoining the depot.
The Fire was finally contained late into the night with no life lost.
