JOS CRISIS: Airforce To Transport Remains Of Corps Members

The corpses of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who lost their lives during the crisis that erupted in Jos last weekend would be conveyed to their Families in Lagos and Ibadan.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has requested the Nigerian Airforce to fly the remains of the three corpers who were victims of the recent mayhem in the capital of Plateau State.
The decision to fly them to their states is in recognition of their contribution to their fatherland during the mandatory national service and to lessen the burden of bereaved families in their transportation.
The deceased were corps members deployed to Plateau state for their national service. They were killed when hoodlums invaded their residence in Jos during the crisis that followed local government elections in the state.
The NYSC authorities had given the names of the deceased as Leke Akande 23, Tola Odusola20 and Ibukun Oluwatosin Akinjogbin 23.
Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has continued to provide relief materials and other assistances to internally displaced persons at their various camps in Jos. Some of the relief materials being distributed by NEMA include bags of rice, beans, blankets, mats, cooking oils, towels, soap, plastic cutleries, hand gloves, cooking items and disinfectants amongst others.
