In continuation of his visit to states under his supervision, Eze Jame Major pay a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Bureau of Special Duties Hon.Chika P. Ossai in his office and Delta State Emergency Management Agency. he was warmly welcomed by the Honourable Commissioner, He told the commissioner that he was in the state to acquaint himself with the state officials and to seek enhance collaboration and synergy in reducing. disasters that occur daily in our communities. The commissioner gladly thanked NEMA for the various relief assistance to the state over the years. He also reminded the Zonal Coordinator that there were no response from the Agency over the Timber market fire incident and others which occurred in Warri destroying sawmills and equipment which runs into millions of naira. he further stated that from October last year to date there were over one hundred and forty-one fire incidents across the state.The Zonal Coordinator advised them to carry out Disaster Risk Reduction awareness campaigns across the state. He further urged them to advise traders to insure their goods so as to fall back on the insurance company when misfortune befall them noting that the government has enormous responsibility in providing schools, roads and other social services. He concluded by advising the state Emergency Management Agency to arrange meetings with market leaders to sensitizing them on the need for insurance policy
