




Following the approval of relief materials by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Yola Operations Office, in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), successfully carried out the distribution of assorted relief items to victims of a recent windstorm disaster in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The relief materials, which comprised both food and non-food items, were distributed to beneficiaries from three affected communities: Ribadu Ward, Mbilla Ward, and Ndikong Ward. The intervention is aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by residents affected by the disaster.
Dignitaries present at the distribution exercise included the Hon. Chairman of Mayo Belwa Local Government Council, the Honourable Member representing the area in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, and the Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment A representative of the Adamawa State Government expressed appreciation to the federal government for the timely intervention through NEMA.
Speaking on behalf of the Head of Operations, Mr. Sadiq Abubakar Nuhu, Assistant Chief Administration Officer (ACAO), commended the cordial working relationship between NEMA and ADSEMA. He also urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items received to cushion the effects of the disaster on their livelihoods.
A representative of the beneficiaries expressed sincere gratitude to the federal and state governments for providing timely support and relief to the affected communities.
