The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) South-East Directorate participated in the 82 Division Operations Planning Cadre 2025, held at the 82 Division Auditorium, Enugu State. The event, which runs from 1st to 4th September 2025, brought together personnel from the military, paramilitary, and other response agencies to enhance coordinated operational planning in the South-East region.
The Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, was represented at the opening ceremony by Mr. Walson Brandon, Director of the South-East Directorate.
In his opening remarks, GOC 82 Division, Maj. Gen. OT Olatoye, welcomed all participants and emphasized that the exercise went beyond routine training. He noted that it was aimed at consolidating and transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-motivated, combat-ready force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency operational environment.
Maj. Gen. Olatoye expressed gratitude to DG NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, and her representative, Mr. Walson Brandon, for their participation and support, highlighting the strong partnership between NEMA and the Nigerian Army in advancing national security and emergency response objectives.
The four-day program focused on critical operational and security areas in the South-East and Cross River State.
This collaborative engagement underscores NEMA’s commitment to strengthening multi-agency coordination and enhancing disaster and security response readiness across Nigeria.
