The new Acting Head of Operations, Mr. Igwe Nnamdi C, recently paid a formal visit to the Nigerian Red Cross, Imo branch, as part of efforts to engage with stakeholders in the Owerri Operations Office. The visit took place on the morning of October 26, 2023, and the team received a warm welcome.
During the meeting, Mr. Igwe emphasized the crucial role of the Red Cross in disaster management and stressed the need to elevate emergency management in the state. He also highlighted the importance of data sharing and strong collaborations in this endeavor.
In response, Mrs. Stellamaris, the Acting Branch Secretary, expressed gratitude for the ongoing collaboration between NEMA and the Red Cross. She emphasized the importance of building resilience and capacity within communities in disaster-prone areas of Imo state before disasters strike.
