

A joint assessment team from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Gombe Operations Office and the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (BASEMA) has carried out an on-the-spot evaluation of the recent fire incident that affected Beguwus, Maraku, and Kagadama communities in the Jama’are/Itas-Gadau Federal Constituency of Bauchi State.The assessment, led by ACSARO, Mr Kabiru Moraki, who determine the extent of the damage caused by the inferno and to facilitate immediate humanitarian support and long-term recovery planning.During the visit, the joint team engaged with community leaders, inspected damaged properties, and collected essential data to guide relief efforts. Mr. Moriki reported that the fire resulted in substantial losses, including residential buildings, food items, and personal belongings.He reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to supporting the affected populations, emphasizing the Agency’s dedication to ensuring timely intervention for those displaced by the unfortunate incident.The assessment is in line with NEMA’s disaster response strategy, which emphasizes rapid evaluation and coordinated relief efforts in collaboration with state-level agencies.NEMA urges residents to remain vigilant and to promptly report emergencies to enable swift and effective responses.
