National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Handed-over the Federal Government Approved Assorted food commodities to Yobe State Government for onward distribution to vulnerable persons in the state.
This initiative was aimed to alleviate the impact of the high cost of food items in the country.
The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by the Zonal Director, Mr. Sulaiman Yakubu, emphasized the importance of this intervention.
in her remarks, the DG maintained that: It is imperative that we extend support to those most in need during challenging times. Our collaboration with the Yobe State Government underscores our commitment to ensuring food security and alleviating hardship among vulnerable populations.” Responding to the DG’s Remarks, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State expressed gratitude on behalf of the good people and the government for the timely assistance provided by the Federal Government through NEMA.
This distribution will significantly benefit the vulnerable members of our community, and we are committed to ensuring that the food items reaches them accordingly.
A Distribution Monitoring Team, comprising state officials, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and other stakeholders, will commence operations today to oversee the distribution process.
A distribution table has already been prepared to facilitate efficient allocation of food items to various local government areas (LGAs) and beneficiaries
