NEMA conducts a three-day Disaster Management Framework and Basic First Aid training for NYSC/NEMA Emergency Management Volunteers (EMVs)

North Central Zonal Office of NEMA is conducting a three-day Disaster Management Framework and Basic First Aid training for NEMA Emergency Management Volunteers (EMVs) starting on June 25, 2024, at the NYSC Secretariat in Jos South, Plateau State. The training aims to align with international best practices and localize the SENDAI Framework of Action. Mr. Moses Okpe from the Disaster Risk Reduction unit stated that EMVs would further train various communities. The following days include advocacy visits and the relaunch of Secondary School Disaster Risk Reduction Clubs in five schools within Jos South to promote a culture of disaster risk reduction at the grassroots level. The training, led by Mr. Munir I. Abba from the Nigerian Red Cross, covers Basic First Aid techniques. Mr. Eugene Nyelong, the Zonal Coordinator, urged participants to take the training seriously. The sessions were interactive and practical, encouraging contributions from other staff.
