
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, joined Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, Honourable Ministers, and other senior government officials in a high-level bilateral engagement with the Vice President of Colombia, Mrs. Francia Márquez, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Vice President Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, led the Nigerian delegation in discussions that underscored the importance of South–South cooperation and the pursuit of mutual benefits in areas including inclusive governance, disaster management, and humanitarian action.
A key highlight of the engagement was the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on political consultations between the governments of Nigeria and Colombia, signaling a new and significant chapter in bilateral relations between both countries.
By her participation, Mrs. Zubaida Umar aligned NEMA with the broader objectives of the Federal Government in strengthening international partnerships that promote resilience, humanitarian cooperation, and sustainable development.
