BUILDING COLLAPSE AT SASI PALACE, ADENIJI ADELE ROAD, LAGOS ISLAND – 3RD JULY 2024

A three-storey residential building located at 2/4 Asesi Lane, Sasi Lane (Sasi Palace), off Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, collapsed on 3rd July 2024.

The Lagos Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), alongside other emergency response agencies, swiftly responded to the incident. On arrival, it was confirmed that the structure was primarily used for residential purposes. Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities as most of the occupants were away at the time of the collapse.

Four individuals—two males and two females—were rescued by neighbors before the arrival of emergency responders and were immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate any additional victims who may be trapped beneath the rubble. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined.
