The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, today received a Disaster Risk Management Technical Mission from the World Bank Group at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja. The mission was led by Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist and Task Team Lead, Mr. Francis Nkoka.
The mission and the NEMA team reviewed the progress of ongoing collaborative activities and strategies to further deepen initiatives for strengthening disaster risk management, preparedness, and resilience building in Nigeria.
The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of NEMA and the World Bank Group to strengthening disaster risk management systems and enhancing the country’s capacity to effectively prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters.
