A two-story building collapsed at 2:00 PM on January 28, 2025, at Mega Mall Estate, Mobile Road, Inikpa Ajah, Lagos.
The rescue operation, conducted at the site of the collapse, officially concluded with two casualties reported. The operation, which lasted approximately 10 hours, ended at midnight the same day.
Search and rescue teams, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nigeria Police, Fire Service, and other stakeholders, worked tirelessly to clear the rubble to ground zero.
The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, commended the collaborative efforts of all agencies involved and emphasized the need to sustain such partnerships for future emergency responses.
