TWO DAY TRAINING ON EMERGENCY RESPONSE FOR NSCDC PERSONNEL IN UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Uyo Operations office is conducting a two-day comprehensive First Responder Medical Stabilization training for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) personnel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Command. The training which began today is designed to equip them with essential skills required to respond effectively to emergencies and provide immediate medical assistance during disasters or crises.

The training covers On-Scene arrival and Scene Safety, Airway Management, Rescue Breathing, CPR, Blood Loss Control, and Emergency Evacuation Methods.

Additionally, this training will equip personnel of NSCDC with the basic skills as first responder for better performance in situations that require it. This is also in line with the NEMA vision of building a culture of preparedness, prevention, response and community resilience to disasters in Nigeria.

During the training, there were various demonstrations and reenactment of real life scenarios. The question and answer session was also very interactive.

The training continues and would be concluded tomorrow.
