Flood Assessment of Devastated Communities in Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State and Obanle community in Kogi State.

An unprecedented flood hit and devastated people of Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State and Obanle community in kogi State. A total of 35,200 persons were effected, while 53,800 hectares of farm land were submerged by flood at Uzo-Umani LGA of Enugu State. Also submerged were houses, Roads, Bridges and public facilities, schools, community health centers , markets and places of worship. The communities includes Ogurugu, Ojjor, Igga, Ogbosu. Also effected are Obanele Citizens from Kogi State. The IDPs mostly those within river bank of Enugu and Kogi are presently taken shelter at Community Primary , School Ogurugu, Health centers, Corp member’s Lodge, this is because of insufficient space .The assessment was conducted alongside with Officials of Enugu State Emergency Management Agency, Governor Representative Hon Sir Vitalis Okonkwo (SSA on Special Duties), Uzo-Uwani Local Government Chairman, Traditional Rulers, Town Union President Generals, the Media, the Security Personal and other Community leaders.
