With the approval of His Excellency the President of Nigeria Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on the distribution of food items to states from the National Strategic Reserve, the NEMA Uyo Operations office personnel today Monday, March 25th, 2024, attended a crucial stakeholders meeting in the Akpan Isemin Hall, Government House, Uyo.
The meeting which kicked off at 1pm had in attendance Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, representatives of the state SEMA,Local government Chairmen as well as other relevant stakeholders. Her Excellency expressed gratitude to the Federal government for this kind gesture while emphasizing on the need for the items to get to the needy following due process.
On her part the Ag. Head of Operations, NEMA Uyo Office Mrs Mmandu Aisueni, thanked the state for the meeting and highlighted the things that needed to be in place to ensure that the distribution goes on smoothly without any hitches.
There were also contributions and suggestions from other stakeholders. At the end of the meeting, resolutions reached were documented and communicated to all stakeholders.
