On May 24, 2024, the NEMA Uyo Operations Office visited two Naval Commands in Akwa Ibom State: Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Jubilee, led by CDR Martins Fakrogha, and the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Ibaka, led by Navy Captain Aneke. The visit aimed to foster inter-agency collaboration and discuss a joint emergency preparedness drill. Discussions focused on drill preparations, capacity building, awareness, and waterway safety enforcement. Both agencies are committed to ensuring state safety and security. The NEMA team also inspected their motorized rescue boat at the jetty. All parties anticipate a successful joint drill and ongoing cooperation.
